The pelican feeding at The Entrance has become world famous and is the most popular tourist attraction on The Central Coast of NSW.
The pelicans are fed daily at 3.30pm, rain, hail or shine, throughout the whole year. They are fed at the aptly named "Pelican Plaza" right on the waterfront at Memorial Park.
The feeding began almost by accident when a local fish shop employee gave some scraps to the pelicans over 20 years ago. It has now evolved into a daily ritual run by the Town Centre Management and sponsored by many local businesses.
The pelicans arrive eager for the daily afternoon feed where visitors watch in amazement at their comical behaviour and their water landings.
With over 300 pelicans resident in The Entrance and Tuggerah Lake region, the daily spectacular is one not to be missed. Bring your camera with you.
